ハテペ・マラエ Hatepe Marae in Taupo and our little famliy members

　パリハカを出発して向かう先は、海岸から内陸へ。タウポーという地域、目の前に最大の湖があるハテペ・マラエへ。

　ホストはダニー・モレフさん。ここには小さな家族がたくさんいて、参加者と一緒にたくさん遊んでお話してくれました。私たちが帰る時のポロポロアキでも、アイヌの踊りを楽しそうに真似して踊ったり歌ったりしてくれました。小さな家族たちは、すっかりアイヌの踊りと歌を覚えてしまったようで、私たちが帰った後もずっと踊って遊んでくれていたそうでした。
We left Parihaka to travel overland to the sea to Taupo to stay at a Hatepe marae sitting right on the banks of a huge lake . Our host was Danny Morehu and we had such a great time here spending time with all the little people, now members of our extended members of our family. For the poroporoaki (farewell ceremony) we did several Ainu dances and the kids joined in. Our little family members quickly learned our songs and dances and were dancing and singing all the way up until the time that we had to say goodbye.
